ORIENTATION
Choosing the right degree program can be challenging. Which factors should you consider? How can you take your first steps into academic life? And which are the best career options after graduation?
These are just some of the questions high school seniors face when selecting a university course. To help answer them, SSML Gonzaga offers a series of structured orientation initiatives aimed at students in their fourth and fifth years of secondary school.
INFORMATION DESK
Students and their families can book an individual consultation with the External Relations Office by emailing beatrice.palmieri@unimn.it or ares@unimn.it. Meetings are held throughout the academic year at the SSML campus in Via Scarsellini 2. During the session, staff members will explain the range of degree programs offered, provide details on admission to the three courses, address questions, and invite students to participate in other orientation activities organized by the SSML.
OPEN UNIVERSITY CLASSES
Students interested in getting a firsthand experience of university life can attend one or more open classes. To do so, they must book through the External Relations Office by emailing them at beatrice.palmieri@unimn.it or ares@unimn.it. Spending a morning at SSML gives students the opportunity to interact with current students and professors. The External Relations Office will recommend classes and workshops that best match the student’s interests and future academic goals.
SCHOOL VISITS
For years, senior students from SSML Gonzaga, accompanied by their professors and the External Relations Office staff, have taken part in orientation days organized by local high schools. In addition to presenting SSML Gonzaga’s academic offerings, interactive university-level lessons are offered to help bridge the gap between high school and university.
During the 2023/24 academic year, SSML participated in orientation events held by Liceo Classico e Linguistico Virgilio of Mantua, Istituto Superiore A. Mantegna of Mantua, Istituto Tecnico Economico A. Pitentino of Mantua, Istituto Tecnico Meucci of Carpi (Mo), and the Liceo Scientifico, Linguistico e delle Scienze Umane M. Fanti of Carpi (Mo).
High schools interested in organizing a visit can contact the External Relations Office by emailing at beatrice.palmieri@unimn.it or ares@unimn.it.
SSML GONZAGA OPEN DAY
Each year, SSML Gonzaga hosts a special Open Day where future students can meet both senior students and professors.
This event gives high school students the opportunity to tour classrooms and labs, learn about the available degree programs in detail, and attend short demonstration lessons in key subjects. Students can also voluntarily take a practice admission test.
The date and program for the event are announced on the SSML Gonzaga website. To attend the Open Day, students must confirm their participation by emailing at beatrice.palmieri@unimn.it or ares@unimn.it.
OPEN DAY “WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP? DISCOVER THE UNIVERSITY OF MANTUA”
On July 11, 2024, SSML Gonzaga participated in the inaugural Open Day “What do you want to be when you grow up? Discover the University of Mantua”: a joint event featuring all universities in Mantua. During this event, university professors presented their academic offerings and engaged high school students in hands-on activities.
