SSML UNIVERMANTOVAThe Art of Communication

Interlinguistic communication and the latest technologies are redefining the world of knowledge. Let us explore this evolving world together.

Starting in the 2026–27 academic year, SSML Univermantova will enhance and partially modify its educational offer across its three mainstream degree programmes* (LAMET, LALIR, LALIT), in order to ensure that students receive optimal training in the fields of translation and interpreting, international relations, and tourism management. This training is designed as a comprehensive programme that will support students both in their decision to continue their studies and in their choice to enter the labour market immediately.

*The study plans for the three degree programmes provide students with training in two or three foreign languages. English is compulsory for all students, while one or two additional languages may be chosen—depending on the degree programme—from French,Spanish, and German, together with a fourth language selected from Chinese, Arabic and Russian.

  •   LAMET (Languages for TRANSLATION and INTERPRETING)

Languages for Translation and Liaison Interpreting (L-12)

A leading higher education programme for the training of professional translators and interpreters who meet the current needs of the international market.

In addition to the use of the renowned CAT TOOL (Computer-Assisted Translation) TRADOS, currently the best assisted translation tool that relies on technologies such as translation memories, terminology management, and machine translation, we will explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in translation.

Rather than substituting human expertise, AI broadens the professional landscape, giving rise to new roles that students can aspire to, including:

POST-EDITOR: revision of translations, including those produced with AI-assisted translation tools.

LOCALISATION EXPERT: adaptation of content for different markets.

Liaison and/or dialogue interpreting will cover all three languages of study (English plus two languages chosen from French, German and Spanish).

  • LALIR (Languages for INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS)

  •  LALIT (Languages for TOURISM MANAGEMENT)
